The League Cup games have been thick and fast this season. Only last week Preston came from behind to defeat Derby away with an absolute screamer from Barkhuizen and a late penalty from Johnson.
Only a week later and Preston were defetaed to Brighton at Deepdale. North End did hit the bar from a Bauer header in the first half but otherwise they rarely troubled the top flight outfit
Jahanbakhsh smashed home the first on the angle inside the box. The second was easier as Storey was beaten easily which allowed a simple cross to be placed to Macallister who tapped home from close range.
North End now return to league action at the weekend.
