It is understood that Pearson was completing the formailities of his deal at Deepdale today including a medical in order for the signing to be finalised and confirmed for the start of the week.
Pearson will be competing with Johnson, Welsh and Gallagher for a starting slot. It is possible that youngster Browne and Brownhill could be sent out on loan whilst Kilkenny has been linked with a move to Barnsley.
