Preston Earn A Point

Alex Neil had options for the first time in over a month. Gallagher was given a rest as Pearson returned from suspension. New boys Stockley and Potts were also given their debuts.

It wasn't all positive for North End during the afternoon. Huntington went off at half time due to injury and Clarke also appeared to injure himself in the second period before being repalced. Josh Earl will also now be suspended after receiving a red card in the second half.

All in all whilst the attacking options are returning Preston are now diminishing in numbers at the other end of the pitch and may struggle to put out a back four against QPR at the weekend.

The game against Swansea was entetaining although North End still have improvement to make. Stockley appeared to be just what Preston were missing. He is a big centre forward who held the ball up well and linked with others.

Potts also played well out on the wing. It was, however, Swansea, who took the lead as they cut open the Preston back line with some sharp passing. Baker-Richardson tapped home from close range.

Preston stayed in the game and were soon level when they were awarded a penalty. Stockley was out wide when he fizzed in a cross. The ball was blocked and the referee adjudged a defender's arm had stopped the ball.

A penalty was given which Johnson converted. Neither side could find the winner although Preston played out the game with 10 men as Earl, on as a half time substitute for Huntington, was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The back four finished as Fisher at right back with Hughes playing as a makeshift centre back alongside Storrey as Browne filled in on the left. The problems may have eased at one end but they are mounting at the back.

North End now travel to QPR where they will be hoping for some momentum to push them through and up towards the middle of the table.
