Preston Edge Blackburn In Derby

Alex Neil has only tinkered with his starting line up during Preston's unbeaten run. This time Nmecha returned to the starting eleven playing out wide ont he right with Gallagher on the opposite flank. Maguire was the lone frontman.

The change worked as Preston took an early lead. A well worked move from the back saw Nmecha sprint down the right taking ona nd beating his man.

Nmecha then played a ball back across the box where Daniel Johnson latched on from inside the box to fire home for the second game in succession.

The rest of the game was fairly turgid. The conditions didn't help and apart from a disallowed goal for the home side neither side really threatened with quality chances.

Blackburn did throw more at Preston in the second half but the Preston backline has been strong recently especially with the pairing of Davies and Storey.

Fisher was sent off for a second bookable offence as the game expired but Preston managed to hold on to the three points to take them to within four points of the play off places.
