Worrying Trend For Preston

Preston put in a good performance against Leeds live on television which followed from a decent showing away at Cardiff also in front of the cameras. The problem is that North End only picked up a point in either game when they should have been more clinical.

A well worked team goal was finished off by Browne to give Preston the lead away at Elland Road. They had numerous other opportunities but as we all know from the past few seasons North End lack any clinical edge.

Leeds were always going to come back in the game int he second half. They fluffed a number of opportunities with wayward finishing, saves from Rudd and the woodwork before a defelcted effort from Dallas eventually found the back of the net.

Preston needed to capitalise at home to a poor Reading but they were inept at best. North End started well with a shot from Potts forcing a save but two breaks fromt he visitors saw two goals.

Swift and Joao scored the crusical goals. Preston could not force their way back into the game. Maguire looks lost as a sole striker. Bodin put in a poor performance and Potts has been out of sorts all season.

North End just got it wrong plain and simple. They lacked ideas to break down the resilient visitors and were hit on the break. Preston slip out of the play off spots and are on a worrying run having only defeted a poor Luton side in recent times.

There are around a dozen teams competing for a play off position and Preston will need to improve drastically if they are to maintain any hope of being in the end of season shootout.
