Craig Morgan began his career with Wrexham, where he helped win the Football League Trophy in 2005. For 2005/06 he joined MK Dons before moving to Peterborough in January 2007 after a short loan spell He helped won consecutive promotions in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons.
Morgan had a spell as captain at the age of 23 but ended as he was away on International duty. He became Peterborough's all-time record international appearance maker by winning his 14th cap for Wales in a friendly against Estonia.

On 6 July 2010, Morgan joined Preston for a fee in the region of £400,000.
