Fans are warned that traffic is likely to be heavy on the M6 travelling through Manchester for this evening kick off game. It is pay on the gate as already advised by us here at Footymad and coaches set off from Deepdale at 4.30pm.

Of course there was no corresponding fixture with Port Vale last season but Whites fans will remember that we lost at home to lower league opposition at Deepdale last season in the first round of the League Cup. Preston were held to a two all draw by Andy Ritchie's Barnsley before crashing out on penalties.

All we can say is have a safe journey.
