Last season when the two teams met

Norwich City 0-3 PNE, PNE 2-0 Norwich City

North End bumped into Preston old boy Dickson Etuhu at Carrow Road last season or at least Adam Nowland did. This game marked the end of Nowland's season when he was involved in a reckless challenge with Etuhu which broke his leg. North End won the game 3-0 with goals coming from Nowland, Graham Alexander from the penalty spot and David Nugent.

When the two teams met at Deepdale North End picked up all 3 points without having to score for themselves. Own goals from Shackell and Doherty provided North End with a victory as North End romped towards a play off spot.
