PNE took the lead on 40 minutes from Will Hayhurst before Stoke equalised on 84 minutes via Karim Rossi.
In the second period of extra time Luke Clak was sent off for the Lilywhites for two bookable offences. A minute late a 30 yarder free kick from Andy Hall gave victory to the Potters and progression into Round Four.
