Only Trotman, Hart and Lewis Neal were palying from the first team squad with the first two not having featured in the first eleven all season due to injury.

It was Trotman who was at fault for the penalty giving away a foul which saw Wrexham score the only goal. Preston's side lacked many usual members as the youths were given a game.
