Both of the respective first team sides sit fourth in their divisions and both second strings have had decent seasons.

Blackpool however with an eye on the play offs fielded a youthful looking side whilst Preston fielded ten starters who have played for the first team in the past with Simpson looking to sharpen things up ahead of the final two league games.

Youl Mawene once again completed ninety minutes at the heart of the defence with Adam Nowland now seemingly fit and raring to go against his old side.

The goals came from Simon Whaley and wait for it yes - Michael Ricketts got on the score sheet. Preston are now looking to finish the season strongly with the possibility of still taking top spot.
