the toll of injuries on the first team meant Preston's youngsters failed to capitalise after taking a two goal lead against Rochdale in the reserve league. preston had to field an inexperienced side who could not hold onto a two goal advantage and now face a further game this week in pursuit of leaders Carlisle.
