Burnley took the lead with a goal on 13 minutes from Ross Wilson before the Lilywhites equalised on the half hour with a header from Michael McLellan.
The winning goal came on 48 minutes when Juvhel Tsoumou scored his first PNE goal. Ten minutes later he should have doubled his tally when North End was awarded a penalty, but his shot was easily saved by Clarets goalkeeper Jon Stewart.
