Preston took the lead in the first minute as Mellor was brought down in the box. He duly converted the penalty.

Rochdale pulled level but a headed goal from Agyemang and a late goal for youngster Mcgrail sealed the victory.

Once again Mawene completed 90 minues with no reaction and should be atthe heart of the defence for the start of next season. Nowland and Ricketts also played along with Songo'o and Whaley out wide.
