Across The Pond

Danny Dichio/Toronto FC

Despite Danny Dichio's absence from the Toronto line up, there are two games to catch up on as far as Toronto FC are concerned, first of all the visit to Salt Lake City, again without Dichio, resulted in a 2-1 defeat. Amado Guevara managed to net a late equaliser only for Robbie Findley, of RSL, to fire home the winner three minutes later.

Now that Brian McBride has joined Chicago Fire, it seems even more essential for Toronto to get Danny Dichio back fit again as Toronto endured another defeat on Sunday, this time against FC Dallas. The 2-0 defeat in Texas made it no wins in 11 competitive games for the reds and as each game goes by, Toronto FC are getting increasingly anxious to eradicate these defeats when Dichio is eventual fit again. Although Dichio has returned to training following his concussion, reds coach John Carver admits he is unlikely to feature in Toronto's next game as he feels it may be too early for him in terms of recovery time and rushing him back to action would have a detrimental  effect on him and the team.

David Beckham/LA Galaxy

David Beckham and the LA Galaxy's dismal run of form continued when they were hammered by FC Dallas, 4-0. David Beckham was in the starting eleven but may have been feeling the aftermath of playing for the MLS all stars just three days earlier.

Making it seven games without a win, LA lost 3-2 to San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday where Darren Huckerby, San Jose's new recruit from England, grabbed his first goal in the MLS. Earthquake took a two goal just before half time which seemed to wake the Galaxy up. David Beckham sent in a trademark free kick in to the box which was latched onto by Landon Donovan. If it wasn't for the cross bar, Galaxy would have hit back with an instant reply. However, on the second bite of the cherry, the ball broke loose to Beckham wide on the right who hit a teasing cross into the danger zone. This time Donovan's header was on target and left the goal keeper powerless to stop it. 2-1 with 42 minutes played.

Edson Buddle equalised for Galaxy after 76 minutes but thanks to a late, late goal from Ryan Cochrane, the points were all San Jose's

Brian McBride

As mentioned earlier, Brian McBride has finally secured his move to Chicago Fire but is yet to make his debut for them.

More MLS action on Sunday they may be three ex Preston players to report in, that is of course if Dichio and McBride feature for their respective clubs.
