Across The Pond

Fire blaze past New England to book themselves a place in the Eastern Conference Championship final.

As you may recall, Brian McBride and his Chicago Fire teammate's recorded a 0-0 draw with New England last week, leaving their Eastern Conference play-off semi final on a knife edge going into the second leg. With it all to play for, Chicago brushed past New England Revolution on Thursday with a 3-0 win with McBride played the full ninety minutes. The former Preston and Fulham striker  was unable to get on the score sheet himself as Fire's goals came from Chris Rolfe, Wilman Conde and Gonzalo Segares.

The Eastern Conference Championship will be decided on Thursday 13th November with Fire travelling to Ohio to take on Brian McBride's former club, Columbus Crew. The winner will book their place in the MLS Cup final which is to be played on Sunday 23rd November.
