Old Boys Carling Cup Round-Up Part 2

Wednesday night saw the second half of the Carling Cup 3rd round's matches take place with a handful of former Preston players involved for their respective clubs.

Firstly, Patrick Agyemang was in from the start at Villa Park as QPR knocked out the much fancied Aston Villa. Agyemang was later substituted and replaced by Samuel Di Carmine. The only goal of the game came from Damion Stewart after 58 minutes.

Kevin Kilbane started at left full back for Wigan as they comfortable beat Championship side Ipswich Town 4-1. Kilbane was credited with an assist for Wigan's second which was converted by Olivier Kapo. Lee Cattermole, Paul Scharner and Henri Camara completed the scoring for Wigan with Jonathan Walters on the score sheet for the Tractor Boys. Tommy Miller was in from the start for Ipswich at Portman Road.

Seeing as though David Nugent was nowhere to be seen at Fratton Park, the final game that took place tonight involving former Lilywhites was at Ewood Park where David Moyes' Everton fell short thanks to a Martin Olsson goal in the first half.
