At the top level our former boss David Moyes had a bad day at the office as he saw his Everton side slip to a defeat at Anfield to neighbours Liverpool. everton now sit five points behind their rivals in the fight for fourth place.

Dave Jones who spent six months on loan from Man Utd has only featured sporadically this season for Derby due to injury. The left footed midfielder picked up a booking in the Rams home draw against Fulham which saw Derby relegated.

In the Championship Richard Creswell put Stoke in the lead against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough but Franck Songo'o who featured at Deepdale last season managed to equalise for the home side.

In League One Jason Jarrett notched up two goals in Oldham's 4-1 home victory. Jarrett who is on loan is featuring at Oldham heavily and may well sign in the summer. Oldham are striving for a top six finish and could well be playing Championship football next season.

Marcus Stewart also had a fruitless day as he was booked in Yeovil's goalless draw with local rivals Bristol Rovers.

It was a bad day for ex-boss Paul Simpson who saw his new Shrewsbury side fall to a one goal defeat at home to Bury with Dave Hibbert also picking up a yellow card.
