Fred Graham started refereeing in 1988 and progressed via local football and the Conference Leagues. He was promoted to the Referees list in 2004 with his first match being a 1-1 draw between Notts County and Chester on 7 August 2004.

 

He only remained at this level for one season and returned to the list of Panel Referees. However he was again promoted to the National List of Referees in 2006.

 

His last Watford match was a 3-1 home win over Middlesborough on 25 September 2010.

 

His last match was a 1-0 win for Macclesfield at Cheltenham on 23 April
