Darren Sheldrake started refereeing at the age of 14 and in twelve years he has made to the National list of Referees when he was promoted to this list for 2009/10 after sending a couple of season in the Blue Square Premier. He had progressed through the local, supply and contributory leagues in Surrey.

 

He was the fourth official in the 2008 Conference Play-off final between Torquay and Exeter and made his league debut in the 2-1 home win for Cheltenham against Grimsby on 8 August 2009

 

This will be the first time he has taken charge of a Scunthope whilst his last match was a 2-2 draw between Leyton Orient and MK Dons on 25 January 2011.
