Booth's Palace Trip

Russell Booth started refereeing in 1984 in Mansfield and progressed to the National List of assistant referees in 1998. The following season he was promoted to the Select Group of assistant referees.

He reached the National List of referees in 2004; his first league game he refereed was a 3-1 home win for Bury against Yeovil on 7 August 2004. Later in the 2004/05 season he officiated in his first Championship game, this was at Deepdale against Coventry.

This season he has refereed 12 matches, producing 25 yellow cards with 2 red cards. His last game was on 28 February between Doncaster and Derby.

His assistants for the Palace match are Chris Francis from Cambridgeshire and John Magill from Essex, whilst the fourth official is Wade Norcott who is also from Essex.
