Booth's Tykeish Delight

Russell Booth started refereeing in 1984 in Mansfield and progressed to the National List of assistant referees in 1998. The following season he was promoted to the Select Group of assistant referees.

 

He reached the National List of referees in 2004; his first league game he refereed was a 3-1 home win for Bury against Yeovil on 7 August 2004. Later in the 2004/05 season he officiated in his first Championship game, this was at Deepdale against Coventry.

 

His last match was on 28 January when Shrewsbury lost 1-0 at Bury. His last Barnsley game was a 1-0 win for QPR at Oakwell on 24 April 2010.
