Mark Brown joined the Football League National list of Referees at the start of the 2010/11 season. He made his debut with a goalless draw between Stockport and Wycombe on 14 August 2010. His second match a week later saw Chesterfield beat Hereford 4-0.
Earlier this year he was suspended for three weeks by Referees boss Mike Riley after posting a football-related jokebook on the social networking sites. It is believed he made a gag about Steven Gerrard and Liverpool's unlikely chance of winning honours during the 2010/11 season.
This will be his first match involving the Lilywhites whilst his last Chesterfield match was a 3-1 defeat at Burton in the FA Cup on 27 November 2010.
His last match was a 1-0 victory for Blackpool against Reading on 3 December.
