Friendly face for televised derby

Kevin Friend started refereeing at age thirteen within his home county of Leicestershire. His route was via the Leicester Senior League and Midland Football Alliance before being promoted to the National List of Referees in 2003. His first game was on 9 August 2003 between Scunthorpe and Bristol Rovers with the visitors winning 2-1.

 

In addition to being appointed as 4th Official at a U-21 International, he has also been appointed to the FA Vase Final and Football League Trophy Final.

 

The 2009/10 season saw him move to the Select Group of Referees

 

His last match was on 29 August with a 2-2 draw between Bolton and Birmingham with oalkeeper Jaashelainen being sent off after 36 minutes for the home side. Birmingham were also the visitors in has last match involving Burnley which ended in a 2-1 win for the Clarets on 3 October 2009.
