Updated Sunday, 7th March 2010
Although Phil Crossley of Kent has been a referee in all four divisions it will be the first time he has taken charge at Deepdale when PNE entertain Doncaster on Tuesday.

Phil Crossley didn’t take up the whistle until he was 29. He came through the Suburban, Isthmian and Panel Leagues until his promotion to the National List of referees in 2002.

His first league game was a 1-1 draw between Kidderminster and Lincoln on 10 August 2002 which saw him produce seven yellow and one red card.

Phil Crossley was the 4th official for the 2005 FL Cup Final between Liverpool and Chelsea and has refereed the FA Women’s’ Cup Final, FA Vase Final, and a Football League One Play Off Final between Sheffield Wednesday and Hartlepool in 2005. The 2004/05 season saw him referee his first Premier League match on 16 October 2004 in a 0-0 draw between West Brom and Norwich. He missed the 2007/08 season due to injuries sustained in a game at Derby on 6 May 2007.

His last Doncaster match was a 3-0 win at Plymouth on 18 April 2009 whilst his last match was a 0-0 draw between Wycombe and Carlisle on 6 March 2009.
