Nigel Miller started referring in 1989 and appointed to the National list of assistant referees in 1996. He spent some time on the Select Group list and was one of the assistants in the 2003 FA Cup Final when Arsenal beat Southampton.
He was promoted to National List referee in 2003 with his debut being a 2-2 draw between Huddersfield and Cambridge on 9 August 2003.
His last match was the 3-1 victory in the League Cup for Swansea at Peterborough on 21 September. His last match involving Leeds was a 1-0 home win over Southampton on 19 December 2009.
