Charles Breakspear was promoted to the national list for the 2013/14 season after a spell officiating in the Football Conference. His first fixture this season was York City's 1-0 home win against Northampton Town in League Two on 3 August 2013.

His last match was a 1-0 home win for Plymouth against Yeovil on Boxing Day. This will be his first match as a referee with Rotherham.
