Jock Waugh began refereeing   when his next door neighbour required a referee for a Sunday match. He moved up to the Conference and was in charge of  a Play Off Semi Final when Torquay beat Histon 2-0 on 1 May 2009.

He was promoted to the National List of referees in 2009/10 with a 1-1 draw and no cards between Port Vale and Rochdale on 8 August 2009.

This will be Jock Waugh’s debut Championship match as a referee and therefore will be his first match in charge of either PNE or Reading. His last match was on 28 September with Char1ton winning 1-0 to MK Dons.
