A Look From The North East

Its been all change at Sunderland in the last few months, how are the fans coping?

Well obviously the change has brought some big-ish names to Sunderland, most notably Dwight Yorke and some big wins too - thrashing Leeds 3-0 at Elland Road for example. Therefore most, if not all of the fans are jubilant for the time being.

What is the expectation under the new board and management team?

We had a slow start to the season so getting promotion may be a hard task, but that is our aim. Whether it be through the play-offs or winning the league. We really don't mind at this stage.

Ten games in you are not where many expected so how has your start been to the Championship?

As I said before, it has been slow but things are starting to pick up
now. We have new faces but many are out through injury. Once the injuries wear off, we'll be up there with the rest of the big teams.

Do you still feel despite your start and all the change that you could still make promotion?

We can easily do it. The most realistic target would be through the
play-offs but an automatic place is still clearly within sight.

You have a big following at Deepdale on Saturday, do you think that will make a difference?

It will make all the difference. Our fans will be Sunderland's 12th man
out there on Saturday. We always have big away followings and Preston have made Sunderland deeply thankful after offering them 6,000 seats.

Who should we look out for in the Sunderland ranks this Saturday?

Tobias Hysen is a remarkable left-winger. He creates goals and scores them too. His pace and skill will give your defence problems. But he has competition for the starting place from young Ross Wallace - also a good player.

My prediction for the game: 2-2, I don't know if our defence will be
able to cope with your strike force or maybe i'm just plain pessimistic.
