A View From The Humber

You have had a change of manager in the Summer so how is the new boss settling in?

Made some decent signings but has struggled to get the best out of the players and getting them to play as a team on a consistent basis.

This is your second season in the Championship so how does it fair with your first?

On paper, we have a much better squad of players this season, but they haven't been picking up the points. As with last season, most teams in this division are there for the taking if we put in a good performance and take our chances, but we've not been doing that.

You appear to be having a tricky time of things at the moment, how has your start been?

Encouraging performances are followed by the worst we've seen in
years. There's just no consistency. It must be in the players' heads,
as Parkinson has by and large been picking what most would agree is
our best eleven. Their lack of confidence is affecting our chances to
goals ratio, badly.

What have been the problems or highlishts of theseason so far?

Highlights would be two wins in a week in September, including
breaking our live TV curse, but that was followed by a terrible defeat
to a very poor QPR side. We got one over on our old boss Peter Taylor
with a last minute equaliser against Crystal Palace, but then came
back from the international break to surrender to defeat against
Burnley.

Where do you expect to end up this season?

Finishing 18th again would be fine by our standards bearing in mind
the time it's taking our new manager to settle in, but we expect more
next season.

Who should we look out for on Saturday?

Don't expect to put many past our keeper Boaz Myhill - real England
quality (although he can usually manage to put his foot through a
clearance). We've got Danny Mills on loan from Manchester City and he is far too good for this division.

Finally a prediction for the game.

If we're to follow recent form, we'll follow Tuesday night's strong
performance with an embarrassing defeat at Deepdale.
