Player Profile Tim Allpress

Timothy John Allpress was born in Hitchin on 27 January 1971. Allpress came though the youth scheme at Luton Town but only managed one appearance for the club in the 1989/90 season as Luton under Ray Hartford just avoided relegation from the top division on goal difference.

In October 1991 Allpress joined Preston on loan for two months. His first appearance was on 2 November in a 3-2 defeat at Chester replacing centre half Jeff Wrightson in the no.6 shirt. Allpress retained this shirt for the next eight matches in all competitions before ended up on the substitute bench for the three matches around Christmas. Allpress's last match in PNE colours was in the unfamiliar no.11 shirt on New Years Day 1992 when Preston lost at Bournemouth 1-0 and was replaced during the match with substitute Warren Joyce. He had made a total of 9 league appearances for PNE.

Returning to Kenilworth Road he was still unable to break into the Luton side and left to join German side Bayer Uerdingen.

Allpress returned to England when Cyril Lea signed him for Colchester in August 1993. Allpress stayed for two seasons with the Third Division side and made of 64 appearances as Colchester finished 17 in 1993/94 season and 10 in 1994/95 season.

In July 1995 Allpress joined him home club Hitchin Town before moving to Hong Kong side Enterprise in 1997. He returned to Hitchen for the second time for the 1997/98 season before being lured to St.Albans prior to the start of the 1999/2000 season.

His stay at St.Albans was a short one as following a nasty injury whilst playing for St.Albans he fell out with the manager Bob Dowie over its treatment. This led to Allpress rejoining Hitchin for the third time in January 2000 once he had returned to full match fitness. In total Allpress had played over 250 matches for Hitchin.

Allpress became a Police Constable and in 2005 West Green Police Safer Neighbourhoods Team won the Best Contractor or Partner Team in the Better Haringey Awards win, in which Allpress was one of two officers particularly commended.
