Player Profile - Joe Anyinsah

Joseph Greene "Joe" Anyinsah  was born in Bristol on 8 October 1984. He joined Bristol City and the age of 9 and moved up through the Robins youth ranks. Anyinsah made his debut in  a 1-1 draw at home to Torquay  on 7 August 2004 against In January 2005, he spent a month on loan with Conference side Herefordand made 3 appearances. On return to Ashton Gate he made a further four appearances to take his tally to seven. His last match for the Robins was a 3-2 win at Sheffield Wednesday on 7 May 2005.

At the beginning of the 2005/06 season, Anyinsah opted not to sign a new contract for Bristol City and joined Prestonon 1 July 2005. But his stay of three and a half years with the club only managed to make six substitute appearances. His Lilywhite debut was a 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United on 20 August but had to wait for thie fourth appearances for his first win with a 2-1 FA Cup victory over Crewe. His last appearances came in  a 1-0 FA Cup victory over Sunderland on 6 January 2007.

In February 2007 he joined Bury on loan, he made three appearances for Bury but due to injury the loan only lasted 17 days.

In September 2007, he joined Carlisleon a month-long loan. He scored his first senior goal on his second appearances with the Cumbrians in a 3–1 victory at Bournemouthon 29 September. The loan was extended to three months and made a total of 12 appearances and scored a brace in a 3-0 victory over Swindonon 4 January 2008, but no permanent deal came of it.

On 7 March 2008 Anyinsah joined Crewe on loan. His debut for Crewe was a 0-0 draw against NottinghamForest. He had to wait for his third match to taste victory as Crewe won 3-0 at Gillingham on 15 March. His eighth and last appearance for the Railwaymen was a 3-1 home win over Cheltenhamon 19 April.

On 11 September 2008, Anyinsah joined League One side Brighton on loan for a month, he made eleven league appearances for the club and scored Brighton's second goal in their Carling Cup second round match victory against ManchesterCity. His league debut for the club saw him receive two yellow cards in a 1-1 draw at Yeovil.

In January 2009, Anyinsah re-joined fellow League One side Carlisle United for an undisclosed fee. He made his second debut for Carlisle as a 72nd minute substitute, scoring the winning goal in a 3–2 win over MK Dons on 17 January.

Anyinsah scored 13 goals in 47 league appearances; he had a spell of 5 goals in 4 games which included a brace in a 3-2 win at Exeter on 26 January 2010.

Anyinsah made his Charlton debut on 11 September 2010, stepping off the substitute’s bench to score the winning goal in a 1–0 victory over NottsCounty; he scored 3 goals in 19 appearances for the Addicks.

On 6 July 2011, Anyinsah returned to Bristol when he joined Bristol Rovers.
