A Look Back At January

January has become the month for frantic transfer activity in recent time and this January proved no different at Deepdale. Speculation surrounded Pearson and Peschisolido joining the Whites and Nugent leaving. None of this materialised but two midfield players Skora and Etuhu departed making way for the signings of Whaley, Stock and Ormerod.

On the pitch, the Whites contiued their good form. The first game of the year saw Preston win at Carrow Road to a Norwich side who had one five on the bounce. This was followed by a scrappy win in the FA Cup Third Round at home to Crewe and a victory to lowly Millwall. This was all followed by the derby day victory at Turf Moor.

To end the month were two games at home against Palace, the first a draw in the FA Cup and the second an important league victory which sees the Whites sit in fifth position at the end of the month. Billy Davies has yet to win a manager of the month award but after four league victories out of four h emust be in with a shout. The club have won five league games in a row and are undefeated in 21 league and cup games. The next month will prove to be tough with a Cup replay at Crystal Palace and a game at leaders Reading.
