There are several radio stations that visiting fans can pick up when travelling in and around the Preston region including the main commercial stations based in Manchester and Leeds. However, here is a more accurate list of stations in and around Preston which will be more helpful for your visit.
BBC Radio Lancashire 103.9FM and 855MW. This is the station to listen to for all the local sports action including live commentary from one of the local games on a Saturday plus a phone in after the game. Always good for traffic problems and excellent match previews leading upto the game.
Rock FM 97.4FM. Unlike the name suggests this is not a pure rock station. A very popular station throughout the North West plays popular music with the most up to date tunes and traffic problems throughout the region.
Magic 999MW. A frequency that plays an array of hits from throughout the years.
Real Radio (Previously Century) 105.4FM. This is a Manchester based station which is very heavily sports based on Saturday's but your more likely to hear about United and Liverpool than anything in the Championship.
Central Radio 106.5 FM. This is the newest radio station based in Preston, covering Preston, Leyland and Chorley. Has a wide range of music and for 2009/10 provide live commentary on all Preston North End's matches home and away.
