Carl Berry started as a referee in the Surrey FA before progressing to the Blue Square Premier League.

He became a National League Referee during 2010/11 and took charge of his first League Two match on 12 February 2011 as Shrewsbury beat Stevenage 1-0. Later last season he was also the referee for a play-off semi-final between Luton and Wrexham which the Hatters won 2-1  on 10 Mayand was a fourth official for the play-off final.

This will be his first match as a referee for Notts County or Preston. Last season saw one red card and 14 yellow cards in 3 matches.

This season Carl Berry has been a referee in 16 matches producing 54 yellow and 3 red cards. His last match was a 2-1 win for Bournemouth over Tranmere on 21 February.

His assistants are Dabby Gratton from Staffordshire and Nick Hobbis from Birmingham. The fourth official is Geoff Law from Leicestershire.
