After picking up their first three points of the season at Chesterfield's B2Net Stadium on Tuesday, North End welcome the visit of Exeter City hoping to make it two maximums in a week.

Looking at the league table at this stage of the season would be considered premature but the North End faithful can at least take some solace in what they see; 10th place with just 5 points separating the Lilywhites from top spot.

The Grecians visit Deepdale looking to pick up their first win of the season having managed just the one solitary point so far this term.

Said point came on the opening day of the season thanks to a 0-0 draw with Stevenage. In fact, the Devon-based club have managed just one league goal thus far, a Guillem Buaza penalty in the 2-1 defeat to Brentford on Tuesday.

Previous Meetings (Click here for head-to-head guide)

North End haven’t come up against Exeter in a league game in over 15 years. May 4th 1996 was the day when North End ran out victorious in a 2-0 win at Deepdale in the old Division Three. That season North End managed to avoid defeat against the Grecians having drawn one’s a piece at St James’ Park.

Team News

Phil Brown indicated midweek that he would be going with the same eleven that beat Chesterfield on Tuesday. However, the North End faithful can at least look forward to the possibility of welcoming back Conor McLaughlin to the fold.

The Northern Irish full back is expected to be in the 16-man squad after recovering from a leg break and a hamstring strain.

Club captain Ian Ashbee is still a few weeks away from fitness whilst new boy Juvhel Tsoumou will be hoping to play more than just a cameo role.
