The impressive and comprehensive win over Stevenage just over a week ago coupled with the draw with Brentford at the weekend means that North End are now unbeaten in their last six outings.

Thus, it is apparent that Graham Westley's men are becoming increasingly difficult to breakdown and stubborn in adversity.

However, tonight's opponents Notts County could prove to be a tough nut to crack and difficult to breakdown themselves.

The Magpies adopt the lesser-known 4-6-0 formation with the onus very much on parking the bus.

With said bus driven by Keith Curle, a no nonsense defender in his day, the Lilywhites could be be in for a difficult evening.

County are actually unbeaten on the road all season - the only team in the division with such a record, further adding weight to the argument that tonight's League One clash is going to be a tough one for North End.

The latest stop for Notts County is a trip to ground where the home side are without a win since September.

Despite this stat, however, North End are the bookies favourites.

A win for Preston could put them back in the playoff picture and, if the Lilywhites win by more than two clear goals, leapfrog their Nottinghamshire counterparts.

Last season North End were unbeaten in both their games with the Magpies.

This was down to a 2-0 win early in the campaign at Deepdale under the stewardship of Phil Brown followed by a 0-0 draw at Meadow Lane in January shortly after Graham Westley took charge.

North End fans will of course remember said 2-0 because it was during this game that former goalkeeper Iain Turner got himself on the scoresheet.

In total the Lilywhites and the Magpies have gone toe-to-toe on no less than 83 occasions.

North End having the advantage with 39 wins as opposed to County's 23.

Team News

John Mousinho and Paul Huntington are both back in contention for the Lilywhites after returning to full training yesterday.
