AFC Wimbledon Vs Preston North End Match Preview

Pre-Season Friendly Tuesday 31st July 2012

Venue: Kingsmeadow Cherry Red Records Stadium, Kingston London

Kick-Off: 19:45

After a promising and enterprising performance against Greek-outfit AEK Athens at the weekend, North End head into fixture with AFC Wimbledon with a return to winning ways.

A Jeffrey Monakana goal in the 88th minute sealed the win for the Lilywhites following the former Arsenal trainee's introduction in the second half.

Up next for Graham Westley's side is a trip to the Cherry Red Records Stadium in Kingston-Upon-Thames to take on AFC Wimbledon.

For the first time ever, North End go toe-to-toe with AFC Wimbledon, a side that was reformed in 2002 following the original Crazy Gang's relocation to Milton Keynes that same year.

Last season was AFC Wimbledon's first in the football league having made a meteoric rise through the leagues under Erik Samuelson's stewardship.

One man who helped consolidate a place in the Football League for a second consecutive season is striker Jack Midson.

With rumours of North End showing a keen interest in The Dons' hit man, all eyes will be on the 28-year-old former Stevenage striker come kick off time.

Team News

An ankle injury picked up against Athens is likely to keep combative midfielder Jack King from featuring against The Dons.

Meanwhile, John Welsh and David Amoo will both be hoping for a return to action with the pair having made signs of progress in terms of recovery.
