A Point Closer But So Far Away

Forest will likely be in the end of season shoot out unless they have a drastic collapse in the final three games. It was billed as a must win game for Preston and whilst they had the opportunities and put in a much improved performance the spoils were shared.

The game actually started poorly when Preston lost the ball and Pearson running back bundled over a Forest attacker in the box. A penalty was awarded and Grabban converted.

North End came back in the game and looked positive. Potts played a ball into the box which Stockley converted with ease unmarked. Stockley was impressive all game winning headers but North End needed to win the second ball.

In the second half Preston had chances but the visitors managed to keep Preston out on a couple of occasions with last ditch blocks. The game ended all square.

Preston remain in eight place sitting two points behind Cardiff. Swansea who are currently seventh play Leeds tomorrow. In reality Preston now have to pick up nine points from their final three fixtures and hope both Welsh sides slip up to stand a chance of finishing in the top six.
