Kelly who played between the sticks more times than any other Preston stopper died in America where he had been residing for a number of years. The Ireland international had been ill for a while with cancer but sadly passed away.

Kelly played in the 1964 Cup Final and also has a stand to his name will stand amongst the greats that played for the Whites. His son also went on to wear the number one shirt at Deepdale and our condolences go out to the Kelly family and friends.
