The tackle at best deserved a yellow card but it is feared that the referee was swayed by the Norwich players who rushed into the melee in particular Darren Huckerby who raced some twenty yards to sway the referee.
Simpson has asked the referee to review his decision but is not hopeful. If nothing is forthcoming capatin Alexander will miss Friday's game at Wolves, the home match against QPR and League Cup game away at Port Vale.
