Alex Neil changed his line up as his injury worries started to alleviate. Ben Davies returned at the back alongside Huntington whilst fisher also returned pushing Woods across to left back.

Gallagher provided experience again in the middle of the park whilst Hugill returned from suspension up front meaning a deeper role for Mavididi. Clarke was again on the bench.

Preston took the lead in the first half after the home side failed to clear an initial Preston attack. The ball ended up wth Gallagher who curled in from inside the box.

There were moments to worry Preston. Maxwell was caught flapping and there were times when Preston had to clear in their own box but they managed to keep the home side at bay before scoring a second.

Robinson was on as a substitute when he burst down the middle connecting onto a great ball from the right wing. He slotted past the keeper to give North End a comfortable lead.

Woodrow scored for the home side late on but it wasn't enough as Preston held on for all three points which halts their previous poor run of form over the past two months.
