Preston tried to sign the forward in January but with Walsall going for promotion they refused to sell. Grayson is keen to renew his interest despite several other clubs looking at the frontman.
Reports in the Midlands suggest that Walsall have rejected an offer of £400,000 from Preston whilst North End deny that they have made anything further than an enquiry.
Clearly both versions cannot be accurate and it is unlikely to be the last we hear of this long drawn out transfer saga.
