Striker Koumantarakis is set to return in mid-September after a gruelling injury set back that has limited his appearances for the Whites.
We have yet to see the full capabilities of the Greek goal scorer, and Craig Brown will be delighted to see him fit and involved in the squad.
The Manager said: "That would be a great boost because George would give me extra options in that area, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that his improvement continues.
"Losing George to that injury from a friendly match was desperately disappointing for the whole club just when he was beginning to establish himself at Preston.
"But I would never have imagined that he would still be out of action six months later.
"But these things happens in football and we've just got to deal with it.
"George has a big role to play at Deepdale and hopefully he will be back in the picture soon."
