Brown admits to a little good fortune

Brown thought that the team had a share of good fortune at Bescot as they came from 2-0 and 3-1 down to grab a 3-3 draw.

"I think that was our poorest first half of the season," said Brown.

"To emerge with a draw was I think, fortunate. I have have been complaining about things going against us this season with some justification, but we had the breaks on Saturday.

"I think the decisions the referee made, however unpalatable they were for Walsall, were the right ones.

"Too many of our players were not competing in the first half. We certainly showed some more urgency in the second half, but the first-half performance was woeful.

"I apologise to our fans for that and assure them it will be a one- off. I won't accept that and the players know that.

"It will only take a couple of wins to put us into play-off contention and I believe we have the ability in the squad to do that. We have drawn a lot of games, but I think we can get on a run and put some good results together."
