Hart and Nolan came in at full back whilst Carter started in midfield with Brown and Elliott playing up front.

North End went behind after five minutes with some sloppy defending and some good attacking play by Leicester. Adams managed to curl in past Lonergan from the right of the box and the attacking intent for the game was set.

Preston soon came back into the game with Brown holding off his man before firing off a shot which was deflected past the keeper to level the score.

The game became very open with both sides playing good attractive football. Lonergan was worked on a number of occassions throughout the match but Preston also attacked well.

The winning goal came in the second half with a superb ball from the left hand side found the head of Brown who was free to head home past the keeper. Preston now find themselves in the third round for the second time in the past decade with the draw being made on Saturday.
