Prior to the appointment of Darren Ferguson Chris Brown confirmed his commitment to the Preston cause.
He said: "I was one of Alan's first signings and enjoyed working with him. He rescued my career.
"I don't know much about who is going to get the job. But whoever comes in, on behalf of all the players I can say we are all going to pull in the right direction."
