Josh Brownhill has been on loan at Barnsley and impressed over the past few weeks. The midfielder's options had been limited at Preston recently and barring a major injury crisis he was unlikely to feature in the first team starting line up.
A deal has been struck between Bransley and Preston allowing Brownhill to remain on loan at the League One side until the end of the season.
