Aftre Preston signed Ben Pearson earlier in the week it was apparent that one midfielder would be moving either on loan or in a permanent deal. Brownhill has been interesting a number of clubs and his development at Preston has stalled after an impressive start.
The youngster will join Barnsley for a month initially but this could be extended. Brownhill now needs to impress if he is to have any future back at Preston.
