The Irish forward only signed last summer for Preston but has had a mixed time since his arrival. He started the season well with a goal against Stoke but his defensive incapabilities were shown.
Burke spent time out of the side before being recalled with a mounting injury crisis towards the end of 2018. He looked poor defensively although could threaten going forward.
Perhaps a spell in League One will do him good. When absolved of any defensive responsibilities he seems to be a lively player looking good going forward but Neil demands more of all of his players defensively.
If Burke can add some defensive awareness to his game then there might be a chance that he comes back as a success.
